I have been thinking about going back to school for about a year now. The plan was to get my masters...but in what? I didn't know. Since I knew we were going to be in Florida for such a short period of time I knew I had time to think.
My original plan when I was completing my undergrad degree was to go back after a year or two and get a Masters of Business Administration. Oh by the way my degree is in Hospitality and Special Events Management. Basically with two very board degrees I figured I could do anything. Which is basically the truth. Except there's one tiny detail...I don't know what I want to do. HR struck my fancy but there is a lack of jobs in that area, seems kind of pointless to spend more money going back for that to not get a job.
Recently, I have been thinking about getting certified as a teacher. Elementary education (PreK-3) would be my preferred area. But I'm slightly lost as how one goes back to school for this. I think that I can enroll to get my masters in education. I will probably have to take a few undergrad classes that I didn't take before like history and maybe a little more math. Don't start thinking that I am going into this blindly, I will do more research but I just want to know if anyone knows first hand how this works? After we move I will start looking at local colleges and see what they have to offer in detail. This is just a little spark right now. When I get excited about something I tend to dive right in!
In other news, I went by Fleet and Family Services today and picked up our moving packet. I feel like I am the most uninformed military wife out there so I am stepping up my game. I'm going to attend a Smooth Move Workshop next Wednesday. Not that our first move didn't go well but I just want to cover all my bases. Hopefully when I get there other wives will feel the same way I do!
